This requires extra caution.

1. Make sure the oven and element are totally cool

2. Try gently peeling off what you can

3. If it's badly stuck:

   • Turn the oven on to the lowest heat

   • Warm the element just enough to soften the plastic

   • Turn it off

   • Scrape gently

4. If the plastic is completely fused into the element, you may need to replace the heating element (they're inexpensive and easy to install).

Once all plastic residue is removed:

• Mix baking soda + water into a thick paste

• Spread it on the affected areas

• Let it sit for 15–20 minutes

• Scrub and wipe clean

• Run the oven empty for 10 minutes to clear any remaining odors
