A little baby monkey named Punch has taken the internet by storm. Punch is a 7-month-old male macaque monkey living at Ichikawa City Zoo in Ichikawa, Japan. Born in July 2025, Punch was rejected by his mother shortly after birth and was instead hand-reared by human zookeepers. Because he was raised by humans, Punch wasn't socialized with the other macaques. He was reintroduced to his troop in January, but he has a difficult time fitting in. To cope with the loneliness, he relies on his beloved orangutan plushie, which he carries with him everywhere. He's slowly starting to make friends in his troop, and he has even been embraced by a grown-up monkey. But while things are getting better, integrating into a new troop comes with some hurdles.
